Patients from the interior forest areas of Dang have to travel more than 100kms to get treatment for any ailments. Gram Seva started medical dispensaries in these areas to provide medical services to the tribal people. At present two dispensaries are conducted in Kudkas and Shivarimal in Dang. Every week team of Medical officers and Paramedical staff visit these centres and treat about 200 to 300 patients. Those requiring further management are brought to Kharel hospital.
General medical and surgical camps are also conducted in remote and interior forest areas with support of donors. About 1000 patients are examined in each medical camp by our group of doctors from various specialities and treated for minor ailments in the camp itself. Those requiring surgeries and further medical management, about 200 patients are brought to the hospital at Kharel and managed free of cost. Transport facilities are also provided. Gram Seva needs about Rs 5 to 10 lacs to conduct one mega camp.
